Background:
I grew up in Arlington Heights, and went to Wheeling High School. I graduated from high school in 2006 and went to Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington-Normal. While in college I studied History and Secondary Education. In 2008, I studied abroad in China for a month. Since graduating I have spent a year subbing, a year teaching in Bloomington and this is my fifth year here at Oswego East High School.
Educational Experience:
I student taught at Normal West High School in Normal Illinois. Upon graduating in 2010, I spent a year subbing at Unit 5 in Normal, and spent a month as a full time sub here at Oswego East in 2011. Following my full time sub position, I taught at Bloomington High School during the 2011-2012 school year. While in Bloomington, I was also the head Freshman basketball coach. Following the 2011-2012 school year, I decided to move back to the Chicagoland area and have been at Oswego East High School ever since. I enjoy teaching and coaching here at OE. I am currently working to obtain my Masters degree from North Central College in Educational Leadership.
Personal Life:
I now live in Elmhurst, Illinois with my wife, Jessica and, Lab/Boxer, Emma. In my spare time, I like to read and watch movies and try to stay active. My wife and I travel every year and this past summer, we spent 1 weeks in Peru, visiting Cuzco and hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Pichu and visited Shanghai, China this past November. In addition, I am a huge fan of all Chicago Sports. My favorite teams (as you could probably guess) are the Bulls, Bears, Hawks, and White Sox and I am a die hard Notre Dame fan.
